|IARP Elections – 2018 Call for Nominations|
Note: Nominations will be accepted through 5:00 PM Central Time Wednesday, April 11, 2018.
If you have been involved in an IARP committee, have attended a chapter seminar or workshop, or gleaned valuable insight from IARP Discussion Groups, then you know the value of participating in our vibrant association. IARP members gain from the contribution of over 300 leaders at the committee, chapter, section, and board levels to sustain its strength. We continue to grow based upon your contribution and individual commitment to serve.
This spring all IARP CHAPTERS will have openings on their boards of directors and I encourage you to consider volunteering to serve in a leadership capacity. If you’ve never served in any capacity in IARP, volunteering at the chapter level would be a great starting point. If you are new to the rehabilitation field, serving on a chapter board, will begin to broaden your leadership horizons.
Each of IARPs FIVE SPECIAL INTEREST SECTIONS has openings on its board of directors. Serving on a section board is a great starting point for your leadership journey. Experience at this level may lead you to seek a position on the IARP International Board of Directors. I sincerely believe that “Leadership development is a process that begins with an individual’s commitment to engage, learn, challenge, and support the organization”.
As a longtime member of IARP and volunteer in multiple areas, I have established strong relationships with members from across the association, received the support and resources of a national organization, and benefited from the many educational programs and publications that have helped me grow personally and professionally in my rehabilitation consulting practice.
I encourage each IARP member to consider how you can make a difference and impact the world in which we work and live. Your time and talent is very much appreciated, and I look forward to strengthening the mission of IARP together.
